Dear Piru, Elementary Families,

We're excited to begin a new school year and welcome both new and returning families back to campus! I'm honored to continue serving as principal and feel truly grateful to be part of the Piru Elementary team. Last year was full of learning and growth, and I loved getting to know our wonderful students and families. We're
energized and ready for another great year ahead!

 

As we welcome everyone back, we're excited to share that construction on our campus is complete! We now have new shade structures, a restroom building, field lighting, and upgraded restrooms. Our cafeteria also has air conditioning and heating, just in time for the warm weather. In addition, the perimeter of our school
received some landscaping beautification, and improvements were made to parking and entrances to ensure full accessibility.

 

This school year, our teachers will continue to engage in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and apply their professional development learnings to improve instruction. We remain committed to our mission: "We will ensure ALL students and educators learn at high levels." Our focus on collaboration, analyzing student data, providing targeted and intentional instruction will guide our work in meeting every student's academic needs. We will also continue prioritizing the social-emotional well-being of our students by ensuring access to our school counselor and wellness center.

 

I want to encourage all families to sign up for Parent Square to stay informed about important school and district communications. Our district will continue to send out communication via this platform and we want to ensure you are all staying informed.

At Piru Elementary, we continue to believe that strong family-school partnerships are essential to student success. We invite you to stay involved in the various opportunities provided-such as school events, workshops, and activities-and to take an active role in your child's education as we work together to support their growth and sense of belonging.
