Tara Stiles save lesson is going to be called the key to keywords my name is language School in Inwood Washington Heights Manhattan who can read about for me voice that will give you the best search results does this lesson is still have the kids become more aware of precise and alternative words that they can use in order to better their searching supposed to review some of the vocabulary Sydney he words most important words related to a subject that you type into a search engine when looking for info sound familiar common core standards for researching are all about searching and initiating research projects so this is a good Segway doing that exact position clear and exact synonyms what are some words with same same or similar or similar meaning very good I'm going to do kind of an open activity we're going to play what we would probably know as taboo the practice their skills of describing and looking for alternate words and other precise descriptions in order to get their point across Great Clips things together thank you for now we're going to go a little faster you can use the computers I'll help you a lot desktops  cataract what were some of the things that you can notice that you guys just did during this game before you answer me talk to each other was this is very good. Is that I'm going to be working answers for searching activities this helps because they're already starting to build their school of synonyms and making precise actions words and how that can affect their searching what types of dogs are the smartest what jobs do dogs do for people  what are some of the smallest and dog types how many results were found on the page and then they have to look at the first three results they need to make an educated guess what do they think that they're going to find the answer to their question in those results want to see the next one and they repeat the same thing noticing that you have to watch foresight very good collection which is basically they need to use more keywords the bouncer found their answer we are experienced keyword search poison to go to come out as poison but it wasn't like poison for dogs or anything that we were looking for I want to watch a little bit of what they the job they do wasn't that great but as you got more and maybe some of you started using some synonyms then all of a sudden you started getting some of the results that you wanted so the next that was kind of turquoise announcing this challenge I called the DePere challenge me a picture frames that's great 5 minutes  we have to have two pairs that are finished this one Godzilla the first activity helped a lot because we knew already had to be more precise and how play find out better the information you have to be like more specific with the words that you pick cuz me and my part and I put dogs but it didn't help Swift learning what size they were so then we put for the second one dog sizes and then they helped us more but take away I think them saying the connections on how these things that they're learning the strategies and skills actually affect their real life the fact that sometimes through the common sense curriculum we're able to do those things it's wonderful when we going to be more specific turn that we learned today everyone precise let's go back to our goal screen read that for me very loudly Chris ND identifying keyword strategies that will give you the best search results then we meet are gone what
